Our Story
The Ashcombe Village Hall is situated in a picturesque position in the centre of Ashcombe Village, South Devon. Surrounded by outstanding countryside.
It was originally built in 1939/1940 on land given by the Brigadier Raynor, and has been extended, modernised and refurbished throughout the years to provide a spacious, well-equipped user friendly facility. Locals say that the original building was built just before World War 2 broke out, but after the then Prime Minister gave the famous "Peace in our time" speech. So during the build one of the workmen carved on one of the beams, up in the rafters the quote "Peace in our time"
